As a kitesurfer you should always be able to make a good assessment of the location that you intend to use. Every location is unique and has it`s own risks and dangers. The first thing to do, when you are at an unfamiliar location, is the following safety check:

Obstacles on the land and in the water, reefs, debris on the beach etc.
Weather, wind, currents, tides etc. Dark_clowd
Activities at the location such as windsurfing, fishing, swimming etc.
By doing the safety check properly you can indentify all the factors that have an effect on you as a kitesurfer. By recognizing the factors you can determine if a location is good for kitesurfing and what safety precautions needs to be taken. It`s always a good idea to go and ask other people, as they might have this kind of important information.
